Attorney Rhonda Levey has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar since 1990 and a member of the New York Bar since 1991. Rhonda retired in 2018 from the New York State Bar.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Framingham State College and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law. Rhonda has more than twenty-five years of experience as a litigator working in both the government and private sector.

After completing law school, Rhonda worked as an Assistant County Attorney prosecuting child abuse and neglect cases, termination of parental rights, child custody, and visitation cases for the Broome County Department of Social Services. Rhonda was the supervising attorney for the child support enforcement and collection units for Broome County, NY, where she represented the County in hundreds of support cases each year. After moving back to Massachusetts, Rhonda returned to her passion of working in family law, representing individual clients and families. Before joining Tsizer Law, P.C., Rhonda was an attorney at a boutique family law firm in Lexington, Massachusetts, from 2007 until 2019.

Rhonda’s practice is concentrated in all areas of domestic relations including divorce, paternity, custody and post-divorce actions, such as contempt, modification and post-judgment motions.  She maintains a diverse caseload including highly contentious custody battles, cases with complicated asset divisions for high net worth clients and business owners, and cases involving children with special educational needs and mental health issues as those issues intersect with divorce. Rhonda has represented clients with international ramifications such as preparing and providing an Affidavit to the United States Consulate in Cape Town, South Africa, assisting her client in arguing against the jurisdiction of the High Court in South Africa, and preventing issuance of permanent custody orders abroad regarding a minor child who is an American citizen. Rhonda has assisted other clients with international custody and visitation issues.

Rhonda has been a guest on the radio show “Talking About the Law”, during which she discussed divorce and contested child custody issues.

Rhonda is also very passionate about her volunteer work which includes being on the Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center Human Rights Committee; fostering kittens for two local animal shelters; volunteering for the Immune Deficiency Foundation; and assisting in fundraising activities for Jeff’s Place, which provides peer support groups for children and their caregivers who are coping with the death of a parent or sibling.
